So, let me get this straight..the new policy of FR is to completely trash anyone who utters a harsh word about Sarah Palin, right?

Pretty much.

In fact, you can get trashed for even mentioning the possiblity that she might not be the best possible candidate for 2012.

There are more than 300M people in this country. 50M to 75M are conservative adults eligible for the presidency. Why in the world have we fixated on one person three years out?

I think it has less to do with Sarah Palin, and more with Barbara Bush chiming in on a political hot-potato topic like a dutiful gossip girl for a slimy little weasil like Larry King, and GHW sitting there nodding approval.

Bzzzt!

Not quit.

Try this:

People are saying harsh words about Barbara Bush, who said harsh words about Sarah Palin.

It appears that way. I have been a member a very long time and I noticed how angry it has been getting.

Apparently. I’ve noticed that too.

Be interesting if there was a poll on how many FReepers would vote for her if she ran tomorrow.

Personally, I find her voice a tad too high & screechy.
But maybe I’m not allowed to say that.

So, let me get this straight... When you trash Sarah Palin, you don’t think other Freepers should be allowed to give you a dose of your own medicine?

Poor baby.

we have enough enemies in the world. we need not eat our own. If Sarah ever logs onto FR, it is my hope that she would feel among friends.

Political correctness sucks, no matter which side employs it. In this particular case, what Mrs. Bush said wasn't even harsh let alone worthy of getting all bent out of shape over. Obviously, she has someone else in mind as her candidate. What's wrong with that?

I am full on supporting of Palin running for president. She has very thick skin. I'm hoping more of her supporters will grow some as well. The strategy should be to positively sell Palin to others and not piss off potential supporters.

IMHO, "Bar" would get a lot less grief here -- and maintain her previously "classy" image --- if she would first:
- blast Obama, and then
- attack Bill and Hillary, and if possible,
- say something against Pelosi and Reid --
...BEFORE she decides to take on the current standard-bearer of OUR side.
She and Tokyo Rove need a few more lessons in "enemy identification" before they're ready to speak in public again.

You got that right. Don’t say a negative word about Sarah. And don’t say a negative word about the chubby daughter who is not a very good dancer.

But it’s okay to trash Mrs. Bush who has always been very much a lady.

How does posting an article that didn't like what Babs said qualify in that way? You must have some kind of axe to grind just to post that, so what is it?

Do you think Babs was classy, conservative uniting, and right to suggest Sarah Palin stay in Alaska?

Do you not think that was a snarky comment from someone who should be criticizing Obama and the democrat insanity instead of attacking one of the main proponents of Reagan conservatism?

Policy? It’s called “free speech.” You might have heard of it.

I share your concern. I think there is a great deal of nervousness among some folks here about who the Republicans will choose for the top of the ticket in 2012 - and much of it is justifiable. We all know what happened in 2008, and in fact several times now in the recent past where the GOP was compelled to nominate the moderate-centrist-next-guy-in-line. How'd that work out for us?

At the same time, we conservatives are also keenly aware that any potential nominee who is an unabashed conservative is going to receive a virtual TSA exam from the news media, with every one of their discernible flaws enlarged and broadcast on monitors across the land. Consequently, we'd be well-advised to find the best, most experienced, quick-thinking, articulate and principled person we can for the job.

I genuinely like Sarah Palin as a person and think she's a hell of a lot smarter than our risible news media make her out to be. But I also think we've got other, principled conservatives who'd likely make better national candidates than she would. That's just my own judgment.

It's not time to commit yet, so I'd suggest to some here with itchy ZOT! buttons to just chill out, let everyone's opinion be heard, and work together where possible to ensure that the GOP nominate a true conservative (i.e. - no Romneys) with a solid record of achievement to run against Obama in 2012.

I can't speak for FR, but it certainly is my policy.

Barbara Bush is an egg-sucking skunk; a frizzy-haired, prune-faced, zombie RINO fruitcake. Her husband sold us out to China; one son robbed the Savings & Loans; another son sold us out to Mexico, China, and India; another son and grandson are plotting to sell us out some more. A pox on all of them. Reagan left us a conservative legacy, and the Bushes have been trashing it for the past twenty-two years, non-stop.

It must really piss them off that Sarah Palin quotes Ronald Reagan so much, and hardly anything ever uttered by a Bush is worth repeating.

And while we're on the topic, the sad state of our economy is a direct result of hair-brained schemes of Ivy League retards from Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc., waging economic warfare against the tax-paying citizens of the USA. The Dems and RINOs are the enemies of We the People.
