I don’t get it. We looked down upon ‘identity politics’, but now we basically are doing the same by voting for Bristol simply because she’s Sarah Palin’s daughter. The main complaint against identity politics is that they make people evaluate a person based on something other than the person’s individual characteristics (e.g., skills, education, etc.). If Bristol has great ability to dance, she’ll win without votes from those who don’t watch the show. Those who watch the show and incline to vote for her don’t need any encouragement.
So don’t vote for her.
