Yep, if I could pick only one of my rifles that would be the one that I'd take.
The brand really doesn't make a big difference, and since you said money is a factor, go to Wal-Mart and buy a Savage for around $4-500.
It's not the only rifle in that range, but it's a solid gun and it will save you $3-500.
