Having a salad won’t do anything if you smother it with dressing like 1000 Island or Ranch or French...

Obestity has nothing to do with schools.

Schools served the same things back in the 70s and 80s they do today and there was far less obesity back then.

They’d be better off increasing phys ed classes. Kids exercised more back then. Now they’re all online or texting or facebooking or playing video games.

Ironically enough, the WH use dto run this thing called the President’s Challenge for Physical Fitness. It was a contest among all 50 states where people signed up and used these stepcounters to measure how physically active they were for say 6 weeks or so over the summer. AK won back to back in 2008-9. The first two yrs of the program that started in 2008. For some reason, the WH ended the program after 2009. I wonder why?

So under Gov Palin’s leadership AK was the most active state in both 2008-2009 She should really tout that.

It’s not about salad bars. I saw last night where she was out there hiking 12 miles with her dad and his friend. That’s what’s needed. You don’t get obese if you do stuff like that.

I go back as far as the 40s and 50s in school and they served the same things then also. Hardly any fat kids because we all had to work and we all participated in recess and PE. Our families managed to feed us and keep us from being malnutritioned.
