Going Rogue went on to sell more than 2.66 million copies. Almost half a million more than they give her credit for. And she’s probably over 2.7 million now. They always quote the 2.2 million, just as they quote the bogus abc news/wash post poll of adults from Feb. ‘10 rather than the Sept. ‘10 rasmussen poll of likely voters showing she has a 49-50 approval with independents, meaning if she has that she’s more than electable.

Governors John Connally and Mitt Romney are all the proof one needs that you can’t buy a nomination in a presidential race. I would venture to say that book publishing is a similar game.

Has anyone been able to pin down how many books Romney sold?Vs. how many he bought himself to distribute to friends, acquaintances, libraries, etc. or just to push up the numbers.

The Mittster got that covered. He made the people who hired him for speaking engagements spend half of the $50K fee on buying his book. I will say that is pretty slick, Pushed the unreadable book into the best seller realm.

Palin's first book, "Going Rogue," was released one year ago and became the second-fastest selling political book in history. It went into a second printing three days after its release and went on to sell 2.2 million hardcover copies. "America by Heart" (subtitled "Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag") had an initial press run of 1 million copies, suggesting its publisher, HarperCollins, didn't expect it to repeat the success of "Rogue," the report said.
Hmmm, didn't the first book have an initial press run of about 1 million copies?
If so, was it because the publisher didn't expect it to sell 2.2 million copies?
Or was it because an initial run of 1 million copies was a prudent number for the publisher to have picked -- in both cases?

What bothers me about the Romney book, aside from his elaborate manipulations of sales, is that I have never been able to find the total of the number sold.
We know that he cheated to get on the bestseller list, but we don’t know how dismal the actual sales were in comparison to the Palin book sales, his total seems to be top secret, which keeps a very important comparison from being made.

I bought the kindle version as it came out and plan to buy 5 hard copies to give as Christmas presents. I may get a hard copy for myself, too, just to have it on the bookshelf. The kindle is nice to read but the quality of the pictures isn’t so nice.

We will never know with the way he is “moving” books as a sale. All I know is everybody on the left is constantly spinning about how bad Palin’s book is and she is terrible. Absolutely no one on either side talks about Romney’s. That says it all.
