My hunch is that Clinton has his mind on a third term for the Presidency: He will run on the top of the ticket,

Scary. But fortunately we have the 22d Amendment: "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice ... ." (Nor could Bill Clinton run as VP. Anyone ineligible to be President can be Vice President. That's per the final sentence of the 12th Amendment.)

Make that next-to-last bit, “canNOT be Vice President.”

The only way for Clinton to get back in the White House (other than playing Lurleen Wallace if Hillary were to get elected) would be to be appointed Speaker of the House and have the President and Vice President both resign. It's possible that he would only be "Acting President" but I'm not sure. Of course if the House is in Republican hands that won't happen. It isn't required for the Speaker to be a current member of the House of Representatives.

This reminds me of Jan. 20, 2001, when Bill Clinton talked for an hour at the airport when leaving DC, which meant that the next event at the White House couldn't start until he shut up.

Since when has any little thing such as a law or the Constitution stopped a Democrat when they decided to do something?
