Funny, but even though there is ‘no money’ etc., there is clearly a huge hierarchy in the Star Trek future (e.g. don't dis Picard etc.). This is precisely the leftist model, take away the ability to differentiate oneself by hard work and earning a better life, but keep in place a strict hierarchy that divides society into ‘rock stars’ and the borg.

I think you mean cattle, not borg. The borg collectively have power, they can fight. The “cattle” of such a society are kept to be milked until they are “harvested” (i.e. slaughtered). The idea that anyone would care about the opinions of the cattle is ludicrous.
Or to quote something else I once read: “They divide humanity into cowboys and cows. You are not a cowboy.”

1. Picard's brother owns a vineyard in France. When Picard returned home after becoming Borg, wasn't he offered a job at some kind of irrigation plant, while his brother thought he'd settle down at the family vineyard?
2. Sisko's father owned a Cajun restaurant in New Orleans.
Any others?
