i think alot people’s political views are clouding their judgement on this issue.

my personal opinion is that Obama isnt a citizen, and if he was, certainly not a natural born.

having said that, i took the same oath as he did. that doesnt give me the right to disobey orders, which is what he is found guilty of. Obama didnt write his orders and sign them. Obama may be ultimiately responsible for decisions made regarding this war, but that doesnt give Lakin the right to disobey orders.

was Lakin charged with slander? or lying under oath? Insubordination?

NO. he was found guilty of disobeying orders.

You say that Lakin, as with all of us who serve, swore an oath to defend the constitution. This is very true. You can only disobey an unlawful order. His mobilization orders were by no means unlawful.

some of you are arguing apples, when the matter is regarding oranges. The simple fact is this: Lakin disobeyed a lawful order. and he is to be rightly punished.

he sets no example that a real leader would choose to follow.

a lawful order
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Orders that originated from the desk of a usurper? Huh?

Two things are needed for tyranny:

1) Audaciousness. Someone very bold.

2) Complacent and timid politicians, courts, law enforcement, and military.

So...When would you consider orders unlawful? Hm? When the military actually fires on U.S. citizens or forcibly disarms them? Oh! I forgot! Waco and New Orleans. Gee! I guess they already did that.

So as the pot slowly warms we, the frogs, let a president thumb his nose at us rather than release a few key documents.

So?...Just exactly when would the water be hot enough for you to disobey an order?

Amen. At its core, this is a political/legal dispute, and whatever your view on the merits, it remains an issue to be decided by the court system, not by the military as Lakin attempted to do when he disobeyed his orders.

The default assumption for orders is that they are lawful, absent clear evidence to the contrary. But by Lakin's own admission, there isn't any such undisputed evidence. He simply claims that there are "reasonable questions" regarding Obama's citizenship.

Honestly, anyone with their head in the real world had to know that he wouldn't be able to shoehorn his objection to Obama being President into his court-martial. So this was basically a quixotic, symbolic action, yet the only real symbolism he achieved was to politicize the one institution in this country that should never be politicized, and I saw that as a former Marine officer.

Figures it was a freakin' doc rather than a trigger-puller....

Failing to capitalize the beginning of a sentence and using non-words like “alot” makes you look like a moron.

I may agree with you, but looking like a moron is less than helpful.
