Smartest commentator around. Unfortunately there are some on the right that find certain truths unpalatable. Charles is not always right but he’s right far more than most. The fact that he has gored your particular ox doesn’t change that.

I have decided that he is a Liberal because I have listened to him state his views. I haven't heard anything remotely Conservative from him in quite awhile.

I base my opinion on his views.

And I note incidentally that his demographics read like a stereotype of the perfect Liberal. Of course, he's not homosexual, but if I were casting a sitcom and wanted a character to be an obnoxious Liberal, I think disabled Jewish Canadian psychiatrist would fit the preconceptions of about 80% of the population.

Yep!

Charlie is clearly one of the smartest guys around. He is often wrong (and I often disagree with him) but that doesn't mean his perspective isn't valuable.

Krauthammer has earned the respect and attention of all conservatives. He tells the unvarnished truth as he sees it. His analysis is always valuable, even when we disagree with it.

I've never been a huge fan of Krauthammer, but I respect his opinion on a lot of issues even if I disagree with him. And there's no question that he's one of the best political pundits around today.

My biggest complaint about him is that he's what I like to call a "Beltway conservative" -- which is someone who is basically a liberal on most issues, but seems to be a conservative only in comparison to his peers in his industry (the media) and the populations of those places where his industry is centered (Washington, New York, Los Angeles, etc.).

Krauthammer, David Frum, and even Michael Medved all are made of the same cloth. Intellectual highly educated North Eastern Republicans who look down their noses at fly-over country small town American conservatives. All would list Romney, in the top three people they would like to see get the 2012 nomination, and Palin near the bottom of their list, just above Ron Paul who should be at the bottom.

I haven't heard anything remotely Conservative from him in quite awhile.

Kraut has been a harsh and consistent critic of Obamacare, the gov't takeover of a large section of the economy, and the various "stimulus" packages for a long time now. His main offense appears to being dismissing chances of beltway-outsider candidates with strong social conservative views to win elections.

Did you just make your first post here, this year?

I know he was wrong about the TEA Party in the beginning. He is a pundit after all and most of them are still working off of the old models. The TEA party ascendancy is different than other “conservative movements” and he was very dismissive for quite a while.

I've been noticing that trend as well.

. . .he's in a wheelchair. . .

I get what you're saying with all the other things on your list of what Charles is, but what does being in a wheelchair have to do with being liberal or conservative?

Krauthammer, “Palin’s growth in mastering policy issues will shape her fate.”

“I think if you want to expand your base, you have to get into policy even though it sounds dull.”

That must have hurt! I know there must be many more ‘personal attacks’ like these from CK.

Of course he does... he is a pro abortion, high tax loving, fetal stem cell research supporting, big government welfare pimp, playing a Conservative of the prince of the house of Saud’s news network. FU krauthammer.

Didn’t Krauthammer favor Obama in the election? Or maybe I am “misremembering”.

Despite how it may appear, I'm really not trying to paint with a broad brush. Krauthammer seems to fit into many categories which have, IMO, the stereotype of being supporters of Liberal policies.

There is a stereotype that many Jews support Liberal Democrats -- not all, certainly, but a lot. Likewise, many disabled people -- not all -- appreciate government programs that help them get access to buildings or other payments or programs. Certainly many people in wheelchairs would like to see less government invovlement, but I think quite a number of them would like to see more government invovlement, because they could personally benefit.

Fitting into one of these categories does not guarantee that a person is a Liberal. Fitting into all of these categories does not guarantee that one is a Liberal. However, the odds are against someone fitting into all of these categories AND opposing the Tea Party AND supporting Obama AND being pro-abortion -- and then saying "I'm a Conservative".

I just take a jaundiced view toward Krauthammer.

Notice Charles never attacks Palin and substitive issues

You mean substantive issues? That's because he agrees with her most of the time.

its always personal attacks or character flaws that can never be resolved?

You're delusional. Never once has Kraut attacked her personally or pointed out character flaws. But he has questioned her electability due to A) inexperience -- especially her knowledge of foreign affairs; B) her high unfavorability ratings; C) the methods she uses to "introduce" herself to the American people -- in particular, her TV show and Twitter.

Personally I disagree with Kraut's (A,B,C) assessments, but his criticism isn't ad hominem.

AND opposing the Tea Party AND supporting Obama

He does neither.

Video: Krauthammer: Tea Party Success A Tribute To Obama's Radical Agenda

Watch from the 1:00 to 2:00 min. mark.

Again, he rips Obama's agenda to shreds on a daily basis, so asserting that he's a "Obama supporter" is ignorant in the extreme.

Sometimes Charles is right and sometimes he is wrong. Just like the rest of us. Most of the time he hits it out of the park.

The guy is a wolf in sheeps clothing, and is not to be admired on our side

Hey, he's a neo-con. That said, his analyses are usually very good and he's got a very funny, sharp wit. I disagree with him fairly often -- especially on economic matters where he shows himself to be somewhat ignorant (IMHO).

So what. I enjoy listening to him. The panel on Bret Baier's show is hardly worth watching when he's not there. For that matter, I disagree with George Will often, too.

They're opinion-writers. Good ones. Enjoy and critique.

Well we have another night where charles krauthammer on the fox all stars, says obama won everything and the republicans lost the 2012 elections because of being rolled by obama.

chuckie thinks a trillion in new spending is going to stimulate the economy (the other 3.3 trillion in spending has done nothing but depress the economy further into the abyss) and obama will get the credit... but chuckie is on so much dope that he is not thinking straight... the omnibutt bill with 1.3 trillion in NEW spending is dead. The tax extension bill only has 283 billion in new spending so it is not a trillion... but the liberal chuckie krauthammer sees an extension of the tax rates in effect for a decade now... as NEW spending that somehow will stimulate the economy. All it will do is it will cause no further decline in the economy by itself... but no stimulus will be seen and I have now put krauthammer in the same league as carville and beckel. Hey chuck... if you are reading this... FU chuck!
