I registered as a Democrat in January 2008 so that I could vote for Obama in the NH Primary, believing then that there was no way he could be elected and that HRC would be trouble.

You make a good point and polls taken this early should never be treated as gospel. The problem for Sarah is more in the trend than in the raw numbers. She has had a lot of media exposure since appearing on the national scene and the polling trend shows a significant increase in her unfavorable rating since then. Her head to head poll numbers against Obama seem to be trending in the wrong direction as well. To complicate matters, the media exposure she has had has made her well known with a large number of people polled already having an opinion of her. In short, there are fewer in the undecided category regarding their opinion on Sarah. This makes it harder to gain ground.
