Actually, that would make the price negative $0.02, depending on how the register was programmed. Back when I was a cashier, the cash register would throw a royal fit whenever I tried to scan a coupon that was for more than the price of the item. Except that I was ready for that since I had a small "filler" to absorb the overage. In this case either a banana or a lime. I can't remember which.

The Copps/Pick&Save computer would still have rejected it, because it treated coupons as though the couponed item were the only one in the order.
Good to know that some stores do it differently!
