“Exactly how ‘high volume’ would a practice be in Hawaii in 1961, and how often would they have delivered a black baby from a white mother?”

Even granting it was an unusual circumstance, does that mean they’d have to remember it decades later? or associate it with the guy they see on their tv screens (hey, I know that mutt!)

My wife worked in Hospital Medical Records for over 30 years and she will tell that even today, a black baby born to a white mother would be a topic of conversation at the hospital. She still remembers the controversy when this happened in Alabama in 1974.

And in 1961??

And when according to an earlier post, there were very few non-military blacks in Hawaii?
