Todd Palin Had an Affair, According to the National Enquirer (The hatred is just relentless)
Village Voice ^ | 01/21/2011 | Joe Coscarelli

The House of Palin is crumbling, at least if you're willing to believe the most notorious liars in media, the National Enquirer, who report today that Todd Palin, the famed "First Dude" and father of five, cheated on Sarah Palin, potential presidential hopeful, with a "female massage therapist who was busted for prostitution!" Shailey Tripp, the woman in question, does at the very least exist in Wasilla, Alaska, but beyond that, the tabloid's tip comes from an anonymous email address, thepalinmorals@hotmail.com, who writes: "My sources reveal that a massage therapist and computer technologist, SHAILEY TRIPP, had an affair with Todd Palin that lead (sic) to her arrest March of 2010." Could it be?

Probably not, but here's more from the Enquirer's online tease for their print issue (buy the issue, they say!):

"According to the tenants in the building of her offices, they saw Todd come and go often and heard noises that sounded like someone was having sex. It was the same tenants who called the police on her."

An ENQUIRER investigation has confirmed Tripp, 36, was arrested on March 4, 2010 in Anchorage and charged with maintaining a house of prostitution.

Tripp pleaded no contest on June 13, 2010 with sentencing set for June 15, 2011. She agreed to complete 80 hours of volunteer service, not post advertisements on CraigsList and pay a fine of $500. If she meets with these conditions, Tripp can withdraw her plea at the sentencing hearing and the case will be dismissed, records show.

Why didn’t they ask the obvious, SHAILEY TRIPP?

RE: The sources themselves probably don’t have money, and so would be judgment-proof against any libel suit.

The Enquirer is BANKRUPT.

They are desperate to print anything in order to sell papers. What better way to sell papers than to have Sarah Palin’s name on the headlines ?

It’s like Al Franken trying to sell one of his books. It would not have sold had the name “Rush Limbaugh” not been on the title.

As long as he's not wanking off in the oval office sink while some nymphomaniac intern is delivering pizza's and cigars, I really don't care what Todd Palin does with his happy endings masseusse.

The media didn't seem to care when Clinton wanked off in the oval office, why should we care what some public person in Alaska did with his DNA?

Need more evidence to judge guilt or innocence.

Well yes, but what makes the Enquirer not “legitimate” to most journalists is that they PAY those anonymous sources, and (supposedly) the MSM doesn't (or they just make them up “Some GOP insiders say _________” (insert what I want to be said, but want to claim has the credibility of someone who is both conservative and has inside knowledge (unlike the journalist who is obviously liberal and ignorant)).

This scenario would be fantastic if it were to happen: All the media spent almost %100 of their time on the Palins right up to the 2012 election, figuring that she will be the front runner (and she may). All the vitriol is spent on trying to bring her down, while secretly, some other future candidate, like Pence, Rubio etc. stays out of harms way and then close to election time slides right in as the Republican nominee. What a joke on the main scream media. Palin is strong to take the hits and actually help the Tea Party Nominee slip in there. That is just a thought I had. At any rate, I do love that woman. (and her family)

Does anyone find the woman's name to be just titilating?

Tripp? Some stories just write themselves.

Okay, so the VV repeated/published the story. But they also put it in the most fair/skeptical context that I’ve seen so far among the repeaters and publishers (which would include the NE, NY Daily News, Boston Herald, and I forget what Brit paper I saw it in). The NY Daily News is the one that did the most dirty work outside of the NE, but jumping the story to the ‘legit press’.

I don’t know a lot about Todd, but I think he is too smart to cheat on a woman as proficient with firearms as Sarah Palin is.

Not only that, but Sarah is beautiful. Cheating would be stupid, IMO.

(But then I’m NOT a guy, so I understand there is NO logic when it comes to cheating...)

When The Enquirer did this to Edwards, FReepers everywhere exulted. "Tabloids doing the jobs that 'real' journalists won't do!! Paragon of Journalism!" etc etc etc.

Now, with Palin, The Enquirer is a sneaky, underhanded democrat mouthpiece.

Fascinating to watch. Frankly, I don't care. Although I suspect that it's a quiet day in the Palin household today.

My Opinion? The Enquirer throws darts and got lucky with Edwards. Although, it really wasn't a long stretch....good looking narcissist, long times away from his wife and so on.

The Enquirer has a good track record on this type of reporting but thus far they have NOT put out a story on this. The Village Voice is speculating on an unreported story.
