Mayoral candidate and state Sen. Leland Yee said racist death threats were faxed to his San Francisco and Sacramento offices today. They appear linked to his recent criticism of right-wing commentator Rush Limbaugh.
The Pima County Sheriff's Office in Arizona recently contacted Yee regarding the April faxes and a possible connection to faxes found during the investigation surrounding the shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Yee's office said.

The Anti-GOP Threat in Maine You Didnt Hear About

Yee wants to be mayor of Fran Sancisco, BTW.
Don’t most fax machines print the number from which the fax was sent on the fax? I think that would give the cops and excellent lead to finding the person who sent them.
Yep, Leland Yee wants to run for mayor of SF, and the interim mayor, contender in the race, is Ed Lee. So, it’s going to be Yee vs. Lee. Wow, good thing they belong to the same political party. The Republican party in SF became extinct.
Oh, it just COULDN’T be leftists POSING as Limbaugh fans. Noooooo.
I would not doubt this was staged. With the freaks who populate and lead that perverted, lost city, that would not surprise me at all.
Watch this generated huge media play. Far more than.. say.. the burning of Sarah Palin’s church and the attempted murder its congregants by arson in (imagine that..) December 2008.
FAKE.
Faxes?? Who the hell faxes anymore except dumbass liberals?
Interesting that the Pima County Sheriffs Office saw fit to contact Yee concerning the faxes when they found faxes related to Gifford that may have been related.
Another pissed-off liberal? Loughner sending photos of himself in drag to Yee?
I’m very skeptical about this. Most conservatives would never do something like that—more likely it was someone trying to smear conservatives or Yee himself in an ingenious plot to get national news coverage to bolster his liberal bona fides as he prepares to run for mayor. Liberals are the ones who are vicious and petty. I’ve actually met Leland Yee several times as I’m involved in the Filipino American community in the Bay Area and he’s frequently at events I attend. I’ve always been polite and courteous with him and am friendly with his staff person who retrieved the fax (per her Facebook post). Most conservatives are the same way—Tea Partiers are super polite. (I’ve witnessed the rabid hatred of the left in person when Michelle Malkin spoke at UC Berkeley and in 2000 when a lot of us Freepers marched in SF with Melanie Morgan, protesting Al Gore’s attempt to steal the election after the vote.)
On a side note, I found it astonishing Sheriff Dupnik is wasting resources to try to to link Jared Loughner to Sarah Palin by requesting faxes Yee’s office received supporting Palin. There is absolutely no evidence Loughner liked Sarah Palin yet Dupnik is still trying to tie the killer to her.
There's more here: www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2494098/posts, but for some reason I cannot post a live link to it.
I marched too! "Get out of Bush's house....get out of Bush's house."
Gore's attempted coup is what prompted me to join Free Republic!
Hey Leland, go ching cha ching cho chin choo yourself!
Obviously fax machines need to be banned.
Death threats are definitely uncivilized. They are also illegal.
That was a great event. Most of us would’ve never dreamed of protesting but enough was enough. The same thing happened with the Tea Party years later.
If I remember correctly, we were actually chanting “Get out of Cheney’s House!” since as VP he was staying in Blair House.

Oh yeah, you are correct. It was “get out of Cheney’s house.” I remember being flipped off by passers-by who were shocked by our effrontery!
Great tagline.
