Well you would think so, but of course the Republicans have been far too slow to move on this issue. Anyway, let’s hope the state ballot rules bring the issue to a head.
It is Washington that is the problem you know. The left staged a very effective influence operation there and the whole town is working to shut this issue down. (calling people “birthers” for example) Outside of Washington it gets a lot more traction.
If left to Congress to deal with it Gibbs doesn’t have much to worry about. What I believe he’s sweating is the issue blowing up amongst the masses. If that happens Congress has to follow not lead. The whole thing is teetering on that precipice now and states requiring NBC proof would give it a big shove towards the cliff.
