Even young people can get Clapton. My offspring enjoy his music. Try it.

To this day I think Clapton has an extra joint in his fingers.

This sole album produced as Derek and the Dominos -hailed by critics and fans alike for songs such as 'Bell Bottom Blues', 'Layla', and 'Wonderful Tonight'- is widely considered to be the defining achievement of Clapton's career.

"Wonderful Tonight" was neither a defining achievement of Clapton's career nor on this album. It came out seven years later on "Slowhand." Like the song "Layla," however, it was inspired by Patti Boyd. Also, I believe there are singles versions of "Layla" that came out much later that have "Wonderful Tonight" on the B side.

"Didn’t Clapton do a stupid song that was an ode to cocaine?"

He bought that song, along with many others, from JJ Cale.

Thanks..just so so sweet to mark the day.

On that high note, I'm off here for a few hours to rest....revolutions are so energy consuming for us young folks.

My only complaint of Layla(and Hey Jude for that matter), is it goes on. Repeating the same 4 bars over and over for the last 5(seems like) mins is tedious.
