Yes, I do have a comment.
First, I’m outlineing two books written by Elisabeth Elliot (her first husband was Jim Elliot, one of the 5 martyered missionaries back in January 1956) and sending them out via e-mail.
The title of the first book is: “Let Me Be a Woman” and the title of the second book is: “The Mark of a Man.”
From the inside cover of “The Mark of a Man”
Radical femininism has blurred the distinction between the sexes, leaving many men and women today stranded in regard to forming their sex roles. In this book, Elisabeth Elliot brings into focus the separate functions that God assigned to Adam and Eve, which show that the sexes are “gloriously and radically unequel.” Written as personal advice to her nephew Pete, her convictions on mainliness will help you to see the glory and purpose of true masculinity-—and reassure you as you shape your own Christian sexual identity.
Other books written by this author are: “Through Gates of Splendor”; “Shadow of the Almighty”; “The Savage My Kinsman”; “Passion and Purity”; “Loneliness”
My prayer is: may we all get back to asking our Lord God and Creator; “what would you have me to do?”
Impossible. Arianna is a caricature. First she was a dippy, new age type writer in Southern California. Then she marries a rich Republican millionaire, and plays the politian's wife. Then as soon as he loses his bid for a Senate seat he comes out of the closet, and she claims she had no idea he was homosexual, and becomes a conservative pundit, going after Clinton with both barrels (oops, another one of the violent, hate speach metaphors). Then suddenly she goes 180 degrees to the left and starts a liberal forum. The only thing that puzzles me is how anyone ever took her seriously to start with.
“Now, sadly, we must destroy you. But dont take it personally. Its simply because, well, youre a woman.”
The author informed my in her first paragraph, that I really did not need to read any further. None of the things mentioned by Hugin, above, seemed to hold any relevence for her. Huffington was only getting negative comments because she was a woman. I am glad she showed her hand so early in her piece.
“We used not likable with Hillary Clinton.”
That’s not a smear, that’s a fact. Since when is it wrong to state a fact?
Can she see Corporate America from her back porch? Can she say “sell-out” without an annoying accent? How much tax will she evade?
I'll wait for the genetic tests to come back before I concede that point...
So far, Palin has stayed conservative, while Arrianna turned her coat, and she may have done it again.
She was powerful because her husband was rich.
She was able to start a blog because a man bankrolled her.
Big BIG BIG difference than Sarah Palin becoming powerful due to her own efforts.
Michelle Bachmann is a powerful woman due to her own efforts.
Seems the wussy men in our culture don’t like real powerful women one bit. They want their women bought and paid for.
She hasn't aged very well.
