Excessive? Conoco, no longer having it's legislators in their pockets, scaled back their diesel production project. In the meantime, other marginal producers like Eni were able to come in and set up shop since they were no longer being artificially restricted from the market due to an inequitable taxation policy.

Oh heavens! Competition! Can't have that... :-|

Yes, excessive taxes...drove BP and others away...said it took taxes and fees to 75% of revenues....75%....
