I’d say you fall into the bad boy category. LOL!
Bad Boys call me the Worst Boy.
Thread degenerates into "Laz classic pick-up lines"?
From what I've read we have some absolutely great designs out there, which you would expect after 40 years of further development. It's too bad America's philosophy regarding nuclear power was established by the same people who thought they could be self sufficient living in bio-domes in the desert.
Just put on your tin foil hat and eat some kelp lady. Thats what we are doing.
I have ethics.
Hey, Worst Boy, I just looked at you profile, out of curiosity. I was surprised to see the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions. Are you aware of the 12 Concepts? I don’t know if NA adopted them. It’s the third point of the triangle.
Loved the rules, too. ;-)
BTW, The Story on my home page is absolutely true.
Show me someplace in Japan that isn’t close to a coastline? And show me someplace in japan that isn’t seismically active? You can only do so much when that is all you have to work with.
LOL. But remember, their intentions were 'good,' so that's all that matters. ;~))
Oh, the hugh manatee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both my husband and I are friends of Bill W. I used to be the heavily involved in Co-Dependents Anonymous, as well as other 12-step programs (’cause you can’t have just ONE addiction). We do our best to live the 12-steps in our daily lives. Clean and sober is a good way to be.
I got clean and sober first, then Stan followed. One night, we decided to go to a meeting together. When we got there, I told Stan the folks looked too rough to be AA. It was an NA meeting. The AA meeting was in another building the the church.
So, we found the AA meeting. It just happened to be a biker’s AA meeting. Way rougher looking folks the the NA meeting. Turned out it was one of the best meetings we’d ever been too. Flat out honest, hard hitting, direct. Also heard about a few buried bodies. We kind of just let that part slide. ;-)
I started reading your story and didn’t make it past the description of the corpse. You’re a good writer. I’ll maybe skip past that part and read the rest.
They treat their recovery as they used to treat their business on the street.
It is some heavy duty stuff.
To add to what you said, the designers planned for a tsunami from a nearby 8.2 earthquake. The actual quake was several times as powerful and slightly closer than the "worst case" that they used in their design standard. Too close to the ocean and you are at greater risk in a tsunami, too far and you are at greater risk of losing cooling due to problems that were considered more likely to occur. Designing for an 8.2 earthquake was considered a reasonable compromise between the two risks. The Japanese may be reevaluating that balance before they rebuild.
