you want a massive economic boom lower gasoline to $1 a gallon and watch the economy correct itself overnight. And the only way to lower it is to increase supply, penalize oil companies that try to restrict supply artificially, destroy opec as a political force and allow all drilling with less regulations but bette roversight.....

And then use the profits and the tax windfalls to develop new sources of energy for when the oil and gas run out.

The world is awash in oil. Tough to run out of something we're damn near drowning in.

Good points. It would still be prudent to have alternatives (some 20-30 years down the line, if necessary) in case it starts to become impractically expensive to get at what’s there, though.

Options never hurt.

i have no problem with funding research into those issues but I do have a problem funding actual companies in that sector. If the research is good then companies should be able to build them at market rates and make a profit.

Private industry has always brought the new fuels to market.

The ordinary buinessman is a 100 times as smart as any bureaucrat, and a 1000 times as wise.

They’ll know when it’s time

The evidence of the President’s anti-drilling mentality and his culpability in the high gas prices hurting Americans is there for all to see.>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yet if one believes Rassmussen and the ABC/NBC polls Obama has a “strongly approve” rating of 42% to 50%? THe more accurate number is less than 30% on this “gas” issue alone, not to mention all of the other Obama disasters with Egypt, Libya and the Saudis in Bharain, and his failure to lead on the federal budget issues.

Obama is tanking like the Titanic, a cause for great celebration, but the GOP is not really taking advantage of this fact.They only have a short time to drive a stake through Obama’s heart, by defunding Obamacare completely.They had better do it is they want to survive as a party.

Sarah has Obama by the short ones.All she has to do is twist and pull.

Wholesale gas prices are dropping like a rock.
I’m assuming they figure the lack of activity in Japan will create a short term surplus
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

wait until the summer driving season or when Japan starts buying more fossil fuels to make up the difference.
