I had a very bad crash ski racing while coaching a client. Sprained both ankles, the left one very badly. I'm out of work for the rest of the season. I need information of Colorado Workmen's Comp.
I hope everything works out okay.
There is probably a webpage about, maybe this one or one linked from it: http://www.coworkforce.com/dwc/whatis/employerwhatis.asp
My questions would be:
Was this on the job? and Was the employer paying into Workers Comp??

FR isn’t where you need to go to get help.
See your/a attorney. Most charge minimal fee to advise you.
Must Resist..........Holding back.........Too much good stuff........
The information should be hanging up on the wall of your employer’s office or in the break room area or near the time clock in an obvious location that identifies the Workman’s Comp plan, the agent, who the call for claims, as well as information as filing a form with your employer notifying them of the accident. Failure to notify the employer of the accident in a timely manner (after being released from the hospital, etc) can result in your claim being denied later.
You are employed by a company you will need to file an incident report with them and HR should direct your from there....good luck finding a doc that will take workmans comp....workmans comp is a real pain to deal with for you and the doctor.....
I do hope you feel better soon...sprains can take forever to heal.....
Can you speak Urdu?
I was furt on the job and as far as I can tell will be VERY well taken care of with respect to the medical side. The first two visits to clinics have gone very well, as I expected. At some point I will have to get to the compensation side of things. That is what worries me, A LOT!
No, haven’t been to India, just eat a lot of Indian food! :)
Urdon’t................
How much longer is the season scheduled for?
It was legal because I was with my client. I wasn’t going “all out stupid crazy”, just going quickly enough to stay ahead of my client. He is a GOOD skier and racer. I was “playing rabbit” and making him chase me.
Nice job.
My wife is in year 3 of her Workman’s Comp (California)/disability case. Her lawer (disability specialist) says it’s coming down to the end “soon”
The first time my wife got on the job injury (10 years ago) she did it all herself, took less than a year and she was awarded $400 a month for 4 years.
We expect a lot better this time as she is now disabled (back fusion).
Get a lawyer if you think you will need long term care for your injury. Too many landmines in the process.
Most state’s work comp is similar.
Your emplyer is obligated to pay for all medical treatment and expenses. If light duty is available, take advantage of it, it pays better than work comp benefits and works out better for you and your employer.
Unless your employer or the insurer are complete boneheads, don’t involve a lawyer during your treatment. As soon as the insurer gets a letter from a lawyer, everything comes to a screeching halt while they investigate the claim and all communication suddenly goes to the lawyer instead of you.
Stay in contact with your case manager. Keep all apointments. Don’t miss work without a doctors excuse. Keep copies of every document. Work on getting better.
Good luck.
There was something a while back about Indiana or somewhere that had farmed out their state unemployment questions to someplace in Pakistan.
