Howie The Hawk: 'You Can't Stay Out Of These Things'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/23/2011 6:31:57 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Call him Howie "The Hawk" Dean . . .

Last evening we detailed Cenk Uygur's hypocrisy in supporting military action in Libya. This morning brings news of another liberal nouveau-hawk: Howard Dean. The man came up a scream short of winning the 2004 Dem presidential nomination based on his opposition to the war in Iraq has gone suddenly macho. On Morning Joe, Dean told Joe Klein (who is surprisingly skeptical about President Obama's Libya policy):

"I don't think you stay out of these things. You can't if you're the most powerful country in the world . . . You have to take chances."

“I don’t think you stay out of these things. You can’t if you’re the most powerful country in the world . . . You have to take chances”

The Liberals are going to be left without even a fig leaf, after this thing.

If you thought they ALREADY hit moral bedrock, you were wrong.

Suddenly hawkish Howard Dean now supports muscular foreign policy: “you can’t stay out of these things.” Ping to Today show list.

Yep... kinda like when your fishing, someone comes along and tells you you’re fishing in the wrong spot and calls you an idiot for doing so, then steps right in behind you when you leave... its always a bad idea when its not them getting the credit, or holding the reins of power.

“Let me be very clear: My position on the war in Iraq has not changed,” said the former Vermont governor, giving his first major address on foreign policy. “The difficulties and tragedies we have faced in Iraq show the administration launched the war in the wrong way, at the wrong time, with inadequate planning, insufficient help and at extraordinary cost.”

Yesterday I heard Andrea Mitchell praise Obama saying it was "remarkable that he could pull the coalition together in such a short time."
These scumbags make me want to puke!

Agree !!

We have to stay out of such until congress approves use of offensive military force...they did approve this didn’t they Erkel Mugabe ?

Only use of military force I am aware of without congressional approval is in self defense.

Quadaffy Duck get ICBM’s ?

...this is not the “worst” administration ever in these United States. It is a CRIMINAL administration run amok !

Enemy is IN THE WIRE !

Perimeter security....on air bases and fire support bases etc had concertina, tangle foot wire etc . When you knew the enemy, usually sappers etc ... had compromised the perimeter ....the call went out “Enemy in the Wire”.

.....this administration is such an enemy IMO. I want em jailed ! (fat chance, I know)

Most fire bases string concertina wire around the permiter to keep the enemy out. In Viet Nam the enemy would strip and try to crawl through or under the wire. Thus “Enemy in the Wire!”

Indeed! I'm beginning to wonder if we can survive two more years of this kleptocratic, criminal, crony-capitalistic, patronistic, hypocritical administration.

“The Republicans want a big military and do not want to use it anywhere. The Democrats want a small military and want to use it everywhere.” Line from the show “The West Wing”. Do not remember which character it was.

Another term you are familiar with is razor wire. It is nasty stuff for sure.
