...no one you know has actually listened to the entire long version. including me.

I have.

Several times.

So has my son. I made him listen to it in the car once. :)

Lynyrd Skynyrd? Are you out of your mind? Free Bird is one of the best songs ever!

Pink Floyd is definitely not overrated. Nope, definitely not. Wish You Were Here is another one of my favorite songs!

Loved the Dregs. Got to see them play one time. Their guitarist was awesome!

Nice string of nonsense but its creative use of words does not hide the emptiness of the thought therein.

There have been very few albums better than “Abbey Road”, “Revolver” or “Rubber Soul” and even the weaker albums have some great songs in them “Back in the USSR” for example. Even the lesser albums were mostly a lot of fun at a minimum.

Until the Beatles Rock was dying on the vine from all the diseases you incorrectly lay at the Beatles’ door.

LOL, well listening to the long version might be interpreted as cruel and unusual punishment. didnt i read that they were using iron butterfly at GITMO to soften up the hard cases?

Agree with those. The Beatles are the most overrated musical act in history, in my opinion.

Rush is the most underrated.

Like most musicians, Sting *is* a (liberal) fool.

Any list that doesn't include the Angry Samoans in the top 5 bands of all time isn't worth the paper it's written on!

OK, checking the "Light Rock Bands" IPOD play list... Let's see how bad GBC's taste in music is.

Three Dog Night
Chicago
Doobie Brothers
Pablo Cruz
Boston (2) - oops
Lynard (1) - oops again
Queen
Toto
Eagles
Village People
Foreigner (oops, but the wife likes them)

Oh, well...

Agreed...I like older Mac much more than when they hit it big on FM radio...then it was 'overkill' time.

Since I love actual music the Sex Pistols are excluded. Ramones were not bad and could actually play their instruments unlike the SP.

Sex Pistols most absolutely played their own instruments.

Sid Vicious excluded. But he tried to play; he just sucked.

McLaren put them together but they created something special on their own. The songs and lyrics were very good. They were poor kids who took on and threatened the establishment. Contrary to the lies by the NTY Times - Lydon was attacking the British power structue and he attacked the Labour Party which had destroyed England circa late 1970s.

They were helped in the studio by two very good producers - Chris Thomas and Bill something. Chris Thomas took it on because he knew they had something. The guy is a great producer.

Now these phony ****s The Clash. I knew Brits who knew them. Joe Strummer was a hippy busker who was looking for a bandwagon to jump on cause he did not have a clue. This was from Mick Jones in the band. They were the children of British diplomats (middle class) pretending to be working class. Frauds. They also spewed loads of left wing politics just to suck up to the power structure in England.

The Pistols and Lydon were more libertarian and were against hypocrits. Lydon said “Bodies” was not anti-abortion or pro-abortion but it was about personal responsibility and the horror of abortion. The Sex Pistols and Lydon remind me the most of any band that was like the Tea Party. They were against the corrupt power structure which also eventually became McLaren.

PIL was outstanding as well. You have to remember earlier on they were just kids trying to figure out what they were doing.
