“What things about her bother you?” Sounds like a trap question. RT, is there nothing about her that bothers you?

Anyone who looks at any politician, unless the person is looking in the mirror, will see things that "bother" them. There are things that bother me about Palin and things that bother me about Bachmann, but I will tell you that both of them come up to the 80 percent mark as described by Reagan (his advice that it's better to have someone you agree with 80 percent of the time than to insist on perfection and end up with no one at all). Not 60 percent, not 40 percent. Eighty percent, at minimum 75 percent. Less than that, and you end up with the terrible malaise in the Republican party that we have today. Reagan was very wise; unfortunately, many people took his words to mean that as long as the guy has an R behind his name, even if you only agree with him 40 percent of the time, you're supposed to accept that, but THAT'S NOT WHAT REAGAN SAID.

Eighty percent is good enough for me and it should be good enough for all of us. Romney, Gingrich, Huckabee, DeMint -- they barely make it to 50 percent.

If you're paying attention, you know whether or not Palin hits 80 percent for you, and where the other guys are on that scale, as well. If you say "Gosh, I just don't know about her yet ... I'm going to wait and see," I roll my eyes because I recognize the words of someone who is playing games.

And 2ndDivVet, you're so right that her position, experience, and knowledge on energy alone is enough reason for Palin to clinch the nomination among sensible conservatives. It used to be that the 2nd Amendment and abortion were the true deal-breakers, but now, the "global warming" hoax is just as important. I REFUSE under any circumstances to vote for a candidate who thinks regulation of energy production and consumption is necessary to prevent climate catastrophe. You might as well ask me to vote for someone who literally believes in the tooth fairy -- I cannot, will not, and SHOULD NOT do it, and neither should anyone else.

I do get to decide who I vote for, don’t I?
