Kind of like when John Edwards made his bones on bogus claims vaginal deliveries were "causing" cerebral palsy. So the c-section rate went WAY up, because docs were scared of lawsuits. And the rate of CP....stayed the same. Or silicone breast implants causing lupus, leading to billion dollar awards. Taken off the market. And the lupus incidence stayed... the same. So the silicone implants are back. Second hand smoke supposedly causes heart attacks in non-smokers and "kills" 50K per year, but since smoking rates have gone DOWN, heart attacks should be going down too, from 400k/yr to 350k/yr. but they are staying...the same.
I don't know which I despise more, the politicized "scientists" or the POS attorneys.
