20-year-old Jessica Mokdad is dead. Her stepfather Rahim Alfetlawi shot Jessica in the head while she was at her grandmother's Michigan home. Alfetlawi was upset that Jessica was not living by strict Muslim customs, according to a report in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, and so he killed her this past Saturday.
Meanwhile, in an upcoming Vanity Fair article, singer Katy Perry complains of not having a "childhood" because she was raised in a Christian home. Perry is riding the top of the music charts and making tons of money singing songs like "Teenage Dream" and "Hot N Cold," having escaped the clutches of her Bible-believing minister Mom.
Katy, it seems, has eschewed her Christian roots and is slowly embracing her husband Russell Brand's Hindu beliefs.
It's nice that Katy has that option. Jessica might have wished she grew up in a Christian home when her stepfather put that gun to her head and pulled the trigger.
I hate Kate Perry. She has a talent, but she is wasting it.
What, she wishes she had been allowed to go naked in public and engage in lesbian sex acts when she was 8? Sick-o.
So you “hate” Katy Perry? Not a very nice attitude much less a Christian attitude.
As a minister’s daughter I am fortunate my dad lived what he preached and wasn’t a hypocrite. We were allowed to have DEVILED eggs and even had a Dirt DEVIL in the home! Wow...and we weren’t told we’d go to hell for owning or eating such.
Katy’s mom is a nut case. She is no more teaching the ways of Christ than radical Islam teaches peace. I grew up watching many kids rebell against their “holier than thou” overly religious parents who I might add showed zero honest to God Christianity. They were impatient with their kids and had so much resentment it made me sick.
My dad did leave the ministry after 15 yrs because he was heartbroken over what the organized church (mainly the church leaders of the organization) had become. In his words...it was basically a machine and he wanted to “save his family” from it.
Poor Katy. A typical result of growing up seeing your own parents not living the talk they spout.
I didn’t say I hated Katy Perry. I think you wanted to address another poster.
First you lecture someone on their Christian attitude, and then you proceed to:
call someone a nut case, holier than thou and overly religious
question their Christianity
say they made you sick
suggest leaving the church is better than staying and trying to make a difference
Perhaps you would like to rethink what the word hypocrite means.
