If we had kept our mouth shut about the death and the intel, there would have been a period of ambiguity that could have been exploited. The confusion itself may have helped us as operatives rushed to make contacts and clarify information.

From some of the stories on the data that is leaking out about this op (and let me say first that none have been confirmed but it does fit a profile of his admin and general liberal mindset) BHO had to be dragged to action, with Valerie Jarrett poo-pooing it all they way.

It think it was explained/insisted to him that the leaking of an in-action on this intel was more damaging than authorizing a mission that failed or perhaps had US KIA’s or injured. Ultimately, decision based on which had best odds of increasing his chance for re-election. And as you correctly stated the American people, especially our extraordinary military and intelligence groups, were never in the consideration.
