Palin, OTOH, ran a state that would be California's 5th most populous city. Reagan to Palin is apples to oranges. There is no comparison, whatsoever. One had gravitas by the truckload, one doesn't have it by the thimble.

Palin isn't from California and never lived there, so how could she have become governor of California? That is a flawed comparison and you know it. She was Alaska's first female governor, and had great poll numbers until the Obama camp sent the media to destroy her. And you know it.

"Palin isn't from California and never lived there, so how could she have become governor of California? "

What? Where did I say that Palin should have been the governor of California?

But, we do agree on one thing - there is no comparison to be made between Palin & Reagan. Experientially, they have almost nothing in common. Their records of personal experience as an executive, couldn't be more different in terms of "heft".

Lastly, if you don't recognize or understand the impact of someone's record on their gravitas - which was what I was examining and distinguishing - I don't think you can be helped. OF COURSE, the scope and breadth of someone's professional experience bears on their gravitas. Reagan managed an enormously complicated and economically diverse state. Palin didn't - and in fact, what Palin managed wouldn't have amounted to the 5th biggest city in Reagan's state. If you can't understand the contrast in those realities as it relates to their wildly differing levels of gravitas, then you're just not paying attention.
