This article is so full of it that I’m surprised it’s not written in a brown font.

So the facts don’t matter when it comes to the governor?

Good to know.

“The effort to back up Palin is based on taking bits and pieces of facts surrounding the historic event that, when cut and pasted together, work to make Palin look a little less befuddled than her actual statement would indicate.”

Yes. Paultards/Truthers do much the same. I actually have far less of a problem with either candidate than I do with their over-zealous supporters.

What is true is that Revere was briefly captured (along with two others who managed to quickly escape) and held by the British while on his now legendary ride.

So this history expert refers to Warren and Prescott as "two others". Obviously, this dickweed doesn't know what he's talking about either. I knew about Warren and Prescott when I was a kid.

Is this the same Rick Ungar who produced the famous animated SF series for TV, Biker Mice from Mars?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biker_Mice_From_Mars

Maybe he should stick to subjects he knows something about.

Online: Collections
Letter from Paul Revere to Jeremy Belknap, circa 1798

From the manuscript collection, Accounts of his famous ride to description and overview

"I observed a Wood at a Small distance, & made for that. When I got there, out Started Six officers, on Horse back, and orderd me to dismount;-one of them, who appeared to have the command, examined me, where I came from, & what my Name Was? I told him. it was Revere, he as- ked if it was Paul? I told him yes He asked me if I was an express? I answered in the afirmative. He demanded what time I left Boston? I told him; and aded, that their troops had catched aground in passing the River, and that There would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up.

He imediately rode towards those who stoppd us, when all five of them came down upon a full gallop; one of them, whom I afterwards found to be Major Mitchel, of the 5th Regiment, Clapped his pistol to my head, called me by name, & told me he was going to ask me some questions, & if I did not give him true answers, he would blow my brains out. He then asked me similar questions to those above."

LOL!

Rick Ungar gets this week's Kevin Drum Award*, for outstanding service to his master Obama. Ungar arrives on the scene to savage Sarah Palin for his boy Barry, fresh off his weekly grind of getting a paycheck for giving Obama the old oral-anal in print:

More Solid Proof That Obamacare Is Working May 23, 2011

Obama’s Character And The Progressives Who Resent It April 14, 2011

Obama’s Libyan Policy — Subtle, Long Term & Absolutely Right March 22, 2011

Wisconsin GOP Leader Admits The Truth — It’s All About Obama March 10, 2011

==============

*The Kevin Drum Award is given in honor of Kevin Drum of Mother Jones magazine.

Obama, Libya, and Me Kevin Drum, April 2011

"But the reason I voted for Obama in 2008 is because I trust his judgment. And not in any merely abstract way, either: I mean that if he and I were in a room and disagreed about some issue on which I had any doubt at all, I'd literally trust his judgment over my own. I think he's smarter than me, better informed, better able to understand the consequences of his actions, and more farsighted. I voted for him because I trust his judgment, and I still do. "

kiryandil sez: You can just HEAR Drum's tongue swirling with relish around Obama's befouled nether regions. As the blackballed-by-his-own-side Lefty writer Ted Rall has told us, most of the media worships Obama like Kevin Drum worships him.

Anything from the Obama “apologists” regarding Corpsemen, the number of States in the Union, the US only has 2% of the Oil Deposits in the World, 8% Unemployment after spending a Trillion Dollar on a Union slush fund, writing 2008 instead of 2011 in the Guest Book at Buckingham Palace, screwing up the Toast to the Queen, giving Two Billion Taxpayer Dollars to Brazil for Offshore Drilling so we can buy Oil from them and so on and so on and so on.

The Sycophant Drooling is strong with this one.

I read the article or enough of it. It doesn't matter that what Gov. Palin said was true, she is still an idiot according to Mr. Ungar.

This is the way it is in our PC society, truth doesn't matter and those that point out the truth, including a freeper with a link to Paul Revere's letter, are simply apologists and not truth tellers.

Our culture is rotten as hell. Whether we do a F.... YOU (read without the ellipses) -- VIDEO or attack candidates Reagan and Palin for pointing out the truth, our culture is evil and putrid. Another reason to fear for this country.

Figures you would post this Rabs.

If there's some dirt to shovel against Palin, no matter what the source, no matter how unethical, no matter how weak, you are first in line to dig it up and post it on FreeRepublic.

You should be ashamed of yourself, but apparently, you have no shame.

She simply mis-spoke. And I think it makes conservatives look like apologists when they look for ways to make it appear she said it intentionally. She simply made a mistake.

After reading Paul Revere’s own account concerning the events of that night, it could be reasonably assumed he was trying to warn or alarm the British. He definitely tried to put the fear of God in them. Whether he succeeded or not is beside the point. Obviously, the media is scouring every statement Palin makes to try to prove her an idiot. Would they do the same to Obama? Sorry I asked that question.

While I give them credit for the effort, I’m afraid that – to any rational person – it is a lost cause.

Me thinks you have been exposed to the rare element *Pissantium*.
Would suggest aggressive decontamination immediately followed by a mental laxative to get any fecal matter out of your brain.

PS:
This subject has been beat to death enough!

Experts back Sarah Palin’s historical account

[...] Boston University history professor Brendan McConville said, “Basically when Paul Revere was stopped by the British, he did say to them, ‘Look, there is a mobilization going on that you’ll be confronting,’ and the British are aware as they’re marching down the countryside, they hear church bells ringing — she was right about that — and warning shots being fired. That’s accurate.”

[...] Cornell law professor William Jacobson, who asserted last week that Palin was correct, linking to Revere quotes on his conservative blog Legalinsurrection.com, said Palin’s critics are the ones in need of a history lesson. “It seems to be a historical fact that this happened,” he said. “A lot of the criticism is unfair and made by people who are themselves ignorant of history.”

Final score:

SARAH PALIN: 1

ANKLEBITERS: 0

Awwwwwwwwwwww. ;)
