My prediction from the prediction thread on June 6 at 12:49P
Prediction: He’ll do a Patches and claim he’s going to rehab, but won’t resign.

Of course Patches eventually saw he couldn't win and decided not to run for re-election. As Howie Carr puts it, "He had to retire because of illness--the voters got sick of him." The voters of R.I. even had enough after awhile. So even if he doesn't resign, would he get re-elected?

Oh wait. I forgot: it depends on the district.

You nailed it back then! He was probably hoping he wouldn’t even have to seek treatment.

The funny thing is, psychologically he will be seen to have narcissistic personality disorder, and ain’t no cure at all for that.

Props to you. You beat me by 6 hours.

Won’t surprise me if Weiner doesn’t resign but instead sends himself off to some beachside retreat for therapy for “sexting addiction” and then comes back and pronounces himself “cured.”

In his next election, he will bravely speak out as a champion on behalf of all people struggling with sexting addiction.
