YOU COULD ADD A LOT MORE MINING CLAIMS ALONG THE STREAM WHERE THEY ARE PANNING FOR GOLD, SUCH AS THE BILL AYERS CLAIM, GEORGE SOROS CLAIM, ANITA DUNN CLAIM, ETC. ETC. AND ALSO DEPICT ON THE MAP “THE OLD DEPLETED GEORGE BUSH MINE SHAFT” NEARBY.
THE MEDIA COULD BE DEPICTED AS “GREENHORN CLAIM JUMPERS, THAT GO WITH THE FLOW”
DEPICT A FEW BARRACUDA’S IN THE WATER BITING THEIR ANKLES WHILE THEY’RE PANNING FOR GOLD, OR SHOW ONE OF THEM SITTING ON THE BANK PUTTING BANDAGES ON HIS ANKLES SAYING: “DIDN’T KNOW THEY HAD BARRACUDAS IN THE WATER UP HERE.”.
SHOW A COUPLE BUILDINGS WITH SIGNS ON THE FRONT DEPICTING THEM AS THE N.Y.T. AND WASHINGTON POST MINING COMPANIES.
RUSH COULD PLAY A PARODY VERSION OF THAT OLD SONG: “NORTH TO ALASKA”...THE RUSH IS ON......I THINK THAT WAS SUNG BY JOHNNY HORTEN?

I'm sensing a touch of disaffection here.
A couple of minor updates - Journolist is now CabaList and Trig will be three this year. And that massive kerplunk! sound you heard over the weekend was the Palin email story being deep-sixed, the media who had made it the top headline in the country hoping that it never again rises to the surface. I'm guessing it's a little late for that.
This isn't mass panic on the part of the media celebrity ruling class, it's only the beginning. If Palin succeeds in making this election about them, and it's beginning to look as if she will, then you will see true hysteria. Veterans of the old Reagan campaigns have already noted a similarity: they had him safely marginalized as well, categorized as a right-wing nut, unelectable, until he went over their heads directly to the American people and the latter found out that he was not as he was being characterized by people who were, believe it or not, less overtly hostile to him than the present-day media are to Palin.
The good thing about the ubiquity of the smirking trend followers repeating the latest "Sarah is dumb" joke among themselves is that they're (1) superficial idiots, and (2) deathly afraid of not being considered part of the Smart Set. They'll tend to shut up when they start getting laughed it. And they're being laughed at now.

Something I learned a couple decades ago, and it appears Sarah learned and Wiener didn’t. It goes something like this:
Never write down what you can say.
Never say what you can whisper.
Never whisper what you can nod.
Never nod what you can wink.
Never wink what you can smile.
Nobody’s perfect, but any politician that does not live by these rules as their MO has no business in public office.
