I work for AEP. This statement has been the talk of the company for a week now. Let me assure you, the statementis neither misleading or scare tactics. It’s a fact!
I honestly think we need one of two things to happen:
.....1) All coal plants shut down on a "national strike" for a week to demonstrate how things would be without them. Then publish the cost of compliance and show there is no real gain from the extra cost. Let the public make a demand to get rid of these regs based on their own cost/benefit analysis at home.
.....or.....
.....2) All coal plants refuse to abide by the new rules in solidarity and keep on with business as usual.
In either case, the federal government would have to either back down or arrest every single person involved. The public would probably learn more from the plant shutdowns since they would feel pain and hardship.
