I know that Perry was brought up in a Demon family and his interest in politics was supposedly sparked by attending the funeral of old-school Demon Sam Rayburn.

Even if you dismiss that as a youthful indiscretion, you can't do so with his backing of the one of the ultimate phonies, Al Gore, when Perry was not only adult, but middle-aged!

I've said it before, but no committed Christian conservative would ever have backed Rudy Giuliani, or parroted the ridiculous line that Rudy was "the best prepared" to be President, after having held no elective office other than Mayor of the ultra-liberal burg of NYC.
