“Why is it that the lovers of abortion have themselves never been aborted.”

I Suspect that those who support a woman’s “right to choose” mostly have a dog in the fight. Either they or someone they loved has been down that path and it is very personal to them. They seek to avoid their guilt by trying to get the rest of society to buy into it and, in effect, tell them what they did was OK.

Since there have been more than 50 million abortions since the seventies, that’ a lot of women... Plus boyfriends and parents and brothers and sisters etc. That’s why it’s such a hard battle. easily 1/3 of out population have a personal guilt stake.

I think your post is very wise. The cognitive dissonance is very painful on this issue and pro-life proponents need to remember they are most likely speaking to a woman who’s had an abortion.

I doubt vilifying them does any good for our cause. We need to show them the beauty of becoming pro-life. All Sarah Palin needs to do is say she had the freedom as a woman to make the choice to keep her baby and that she knew it was the right thing to do for her because she had a loving husband and family who were willing to help her with the responsibility. She should recognize that she was in a good situation and found it easier to make that pro-life choice. She should also acknowledge that she knows some women do not have as many options as she had and find the choice much more difficult to make.

That’s it. No name calling or hating. Just the truth.
