The update I got from my congressman who voted against it says that it was a deceptive bill that would only defund UAV strikes which would likely be funded through some other bill.

What idiot wrote this legislation?

It does seem that the bill contained provisions very helpful to King Obama.

So I blame the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, for letting it come up for a vote in the first place.

I’m afraid it was pretty straight forward

In things DC, it often is NOT what it appears.

so, is it just me, or do these things indicate that we should be engaged? 3) aerial refueling: why would we need aerial refueling if we weren’t bombing them...search and rescue missions? We could fly out of Europe, so I don’t it. “and operational planning”...again, if we aren’t going to be engaged in battle over there, then what planning is needed? cutting off funding would have taken care of operational planning...because there WOULDN’T be a need for it!

There was. From what I have seen, if they voted yes, it would fund the conflict up to a certain point. If they voted no, it would fund everything. Neither option would strip funding.

And from what most of the conservatives have been saying, they felt that it was not Congress’ job to determine how the troops are used by only funding up to a certain point, limiting the Executive and military’s Constitutional authority.

If all of that is true, then I cant believe that a bill that dumb was brought forward. Its like the stupid “vacation compromise” commercial I hear where the husband wants to go to Miami and the wife wants to go to Virginia, so they compromise by going to Myrtle Beach because it is in the middle. Thats not a compromise, its just a third option that no one really wanted to begin with.

The rule of thumb for Repubs should be....if a majority of socialist RAT bastard demoturds are voting for the bill, then vote against it. If a majority of the socialist RAT bastard demoturds are against the bill, then vote in favor of it. That way you can pretty much be assured you will be on the side of America & our freedoms & righteousness.

You're just another knee-jerking dumb-ass. If you read the statements from Bachmann or Ron Paul or others who voted against this you would see this DID NOT defund Libya.

In fact, it was a partial defunding and but would have authorized elements of the operation.

This was a FRAUD vote.

Dude, calm down. I was being sarcastic. I just assumed that folks on here would be smart enough to pick up on it...
