I feel that the worst, most perverted and truly mentally ill people live in California. In Southern California, the stupidity, self-hatred (the worst kind!)and idiocy on constant display via in public behavior by the common populace is unmatched, even by Parisian standards.
In the North, well... nuff said. Bay Area should make anyone on this site, simply explode.

L.A. wow, WHAT A JOKE! You know a bunch of houses and homeless Spanish people don’t constitute the definition of a “CITY”, right?
A city has big buildings, public transportation systems that work reasonably well (albeit expensive), NO POOLS, business and industry that produce real tangible products and spread wealth (not just garbage left wing motion picture propaganda).
And, there are a reasonably large amount of conservatives here.
Out of the ‘right type of people’, people that live here- (defined as a; professional, husband or wife, non-government $ taking citizen,voting citizen, non-governmental employe, etc, etc, etc you know the drill), there are large amount of conservatives.
I hardly meet anyone in NYC that any reasonable person would take seriously that at least isn’t moderate if not right leaning... and I meet a lot of people via my job and activities (like softball, which we lost in Central Park today by only 1 run- grrr) and have lived on the UES for the last 8 years, as well as growing up in NJ right outside the city.
BTW, I noticed you live in NJ...I rest my case.

I don’t want to get into a New York versus L.A. pissing match with you because I think both cities have a lot to offer and I’ve rarely enjoyed a trip as much as I did my visit to NYC 3 years ago. I also think both cities are being consumed by the disease of liberalsm. And you are right that L.A. is full of sub humans. I call the place the Star Wars bar scene. But I saw a great deal of that in NYC too, not so much in Manhattan but certainly in other burroughs. Regardless, Limbaugh was out here in L.A. all last week and was in public a great deal and was never once verbally attacked, spat upon or physically assaulted. He mentioned getting some weird stares in restaurants, but no one was so vile as to attack him. Being a little more laid back out here, people tend to be a little less uptight about politics, even liberals. Much of that time that relaxed attitude about politics manifests itself in apathy which drives me up a wall. But there’s also a bit more civility towards and tolerance of conservatism as a result than apparently is the case in NYC. Take a look at post 48 for an example of your city’s belligerence towards conservatives. Now yes, Hollywood is a definite exception to the tolerance piece, but keep in mind a lot of the Hollywood creeps are from New York, Alec Baldwin, Whoopi Goldberg, etc. Others like Spielberg or George Clooney are from other states. Indeed, a lot of California’s liberals are Northeastern transplants. This was once a conservative state until we were invaded from the East Coast and South of the Border. But anyway, I am not trashing your city because I think it’s a great place. I would certainly not care to express myself openly politically there however. I would definitely feel safer driving in L.A. with a bumpersticker for a GOP presidential candidate than in NYC.
