Yep. And unless open-carry was *quite* common for the area, I wouldn’t go openly-carrying into any store whose staff wasn’t well acquainted with me. It’s not a right/wrong issue — it’s a common-courtesy issue because non-gun folks get nervous and can make stupidly poor, rash decisions in otherwise benign situations.
