There are thousands of small towns across America that put on fine fireworks displays with out the hassle.

My daughter goes to college in a small town. They had a wonderful fireworks display last night. She said they parked in the Ace Hardware parking lot about a mile away and had a wonderful view with no crowds no hassle.

As I live in a large city, I would not go to one of those things if they paid me. I used to take my daughter when she was a kid and paid my dues with crowds and little kids.

Best Independence day I had was in Kanab, UT. In a park surrounded on 3 sides by red rock cliffs. Straight out of a John Wayne movie (some were actually filmed in the immediate area). The echo of the first aerial bomb set of all the car alarms in the parking lot.

Bridgeport, CA is pretty good too.
