If you were alive in 1996, try to think back and remember who got blamed for the government shutdown that year. Hint, it wasn’t the party of the president then, it was the party of the House of Representatives.
Only time will tell but I have a gut feeling that it's different this time.
Here's the problem in this one ~ we already know Obama is stupid and the MSM is venal.
Together they've tried to peddle the story that the elderly are easily persuaded to lick the hand of their benefactor, presuming Obama is their benefactor.
You see that same belief expressed on FR all the time ~ that people who "get gub'mnt money" will dance like trained dogs for whoever controls the checks.
Actually the belief is false. Secondly the people who get Social Security paid into the system and they believe it to be their own money. They believe that whether or not you do or not ~ they do and that's what's important.
Obama stepped on his crank yesterday by telling us that this also involved "checks for veterans".
Hmm ~ checks for veterans ~ for what? Disability? Retirees? Everybody who'd been in the military?
Obama wants to stop our checks ~ and it sounds so much like "Shovel Ready Jobs" ~ all those checks are direct deposit these days ~ so someone might ask how he intends to do this ~
Obama has no idea how things work and he's at least half a century behind current financial systems just in looking at the mechanics if not the implications.
He even imagines there's an unlimited amount of money out there to borrow to pay the bills ~ probably think he can simply print it up. Hey, we have Freepers who think you can just print money too ~ they fear it but their belief is that's where money comes from these days. Of course, some does, but most money comes from instruments of credit! It usually never achieves physical form.
