State Department Warns Mexican Drug Cartels May Target U.S. In Terrorist Acts

The U.S. State Department warned yesterday that the Juarez Cartel may target its consulate office in Ciudad Juarez -- just over the border from El Paso, TX -- or other U.S. interests as reported by Mary Forgione for the Los Angeles Times. The "emergency message" states:

Information has come to light that suggests a cartel may be targeting the U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez or U.S. Ports of Entry. In the past, cartels have been willing to utilize car bombs in attacks.

Earlier this month a drug cartel in Ciudad Juarez spray painted a public warning to U.S. DEA agents as reported by The Associated Press: "Gringos (D.E.A.). We know where you are and we know who you are and where you go. We are going to chop off your (expletive) heads."

The warnings are not idle. Last February ICE agent Jaime Zapata was killed and his partner wounded in a shooting ambush in the state of San Luis Potosí, and in March 2010 three Americans tied to the U.S. Consulate were killed in a shooting ambush in Ciudad Juarez in the state of Chihuahua.

Moreover, the Mexican drug cartels have murdered U.S. law enforcement officials on the north side of the border. In December 2010 border patrol agent Brian Terry was shot and killed after encountering several suspects in a southern Arizona smuggling corridor.

The drug smugglers rake in $50 billion a year by peddling their product throughout the United States, and they already have proven willing to kill anybody on either side of the border in protecting their racket.

And yet President Obama sees no need to secure the border, and no evidence of spillover violence.

Yet protecting our borders is still a bridge too far.

Maybe we should bring our bombers home from Libya and bomb Mexico? Drone strikes?

When some gubermeat official finds they can keep the drug money they find we will see another invasion of a foreign country.

So, would that be with the guns Obama and Holder sent over the border or will they be providing their own?

Tell Holder and everyone at 'Fast and Furious', "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED”

The spineless jellyfish that has turned the “oval office” into the “offal office” will pee his pants, but here's a bit of advice to the “drug cartels”., sooner or later “we the people” are going to get fed up and do the job ourselves. I'd suggest watching the movie “Gran Torino” and think about keeping a lower profile.

If Mexico had a real interest in destroying the Cartels they would admit that their Police, and military are so corrupt that they cannot be trusted and ask for the United States Military to help them clean out the drug lords.

If the United States was really interested in wiping out the Cartels we would protect and close our borders.

Neither side is willing to do either thing because of the Money. Follow the money. Both sides are corrupt. I believe our police are in the majority honest, It is our politicians who are corrupted by the Cartel money.

I must admit that the thought that fast and furious was a means of arming invaders has crossed my mind more than a few times.

Hell, they’ve given them guns that we can’t get.

Agreed, if we're serious about fighting the drug war we would secure the border and eliminate a good bit of it right there.

I haven't been able to get any answers but I'm curious about how much money is being spent to fight the drug war on the Mexican side of the border vs the cost of securing the border. I suspect a secure border is far cheaper.

BINGO! I've said it again and again. NOT until the Mexican people are more tired of the bloodshed BY THE CARTELS and stop blaming their government as the cause AND stop their pacifism and disgusting resentment of all things gringo (except our money) - LIKE COLOMBIA DID 20 YEARS AGO - then it's going to get much worse before it gets better.

And I DO believe, if the idiot cartels (not if - when) start ramping up the killing of US citizens - and on our soil, they're going to wake a sleeping giant, filled with volunteer ex-Black-Ops/Special-Ops guys venturing down under to clean out the scum.

First Eric Holder and Company change an existing program so
the Barry Soetoro administration could work with their co-joined corruption in the United States of Mexico to prove the evil American gundealers were selling guns to the Mexican Cartels-Now that the deal has dried up the transfer of weapons to the Cartels NO wonder they are planning retribution
You don’t give gangs guns -and then say they ant keep getting toss away guns.Eric Holder and his boss should have known that. Es verdad— they probably did they’ve been pushing for Revolution since Barry raised his hand and swore to defend a Constitution he finds so repugnant.

I hope you are right, but I do not trust our own administration or our Media

Remember, We just had a United States Border Patrol Agent killed with a weapon we supplied the Cartel and the mainstream media has blown it off, The Justice Department has lied and hidden evidence, The FBI and CIA and ATF are all involved and so far no one is suspended or fired, much less arrested.

This thing should be on every front page in the nation and the lead story on every news show. If not for the Internet it would be shoved under the table, and may be yet.

It is obvious that the guns were allowed to be sent to the Cartels by the Obama administration so that Obama could use it to steal away our Constitutional rights. It goes to the top and yet ———Nothing.

Watergate was a walk in the park compared to this, but hardly a peep from “investigative “ reporters.

In the past most of the Cartel money is spent on the Mexican side of the border. Mexican banks are washing the money, why would they want to stop that money from coming in?

Now it has gotten out of hand, Killing of thousands of people cannot be simply ignored, but it has become so widespread and so many are either frightened or bought that the Government has become a joke.

I am sure Mexico would love to stop the killings, but they still want the money. A quandry.

America is the safety valve that prevents revolution in Mexico. Frankly, Mexico needs a revolution in my opinion.

I’d rather risk seeing a marxist nation form across our border than the failed anarchist state that exists now.
