McClintock: Obama passed eligibility requirements (throws constitution under bus)
Worldnetdaily ^ | July 16, 2011 | Bob Unruh

Posted on 07/16/2011 5:14:24 PM PDT by editor-surveyor

A California congressman says voters, Congress and the courts all have cleared Barack Obama's eligibility to be president.

The comments come from U.S. Rep. Tom McClintock, whose e-mail to a constituent with a question about the eligibility issue was forwarded to WND.

He said, "The Constitution is the starting point for determining eligibility to serve as president. The Constitution requires that to be eligible to serve as president an individual must be a natural born citizen of the United States, be at least 35 years old, and have been a permanent resident in the United States for at least 14 years."

McClintock continued, "Currently, a candidate's eligibility under these requirements is vetted by a number of sources, both inside the government and out. First, candidates go through an intensive political vetting process in both the primary and general election – their histories are carefully examined by their political opponents who have a vested interest in uncovering the facts. At the end of the campaigns, the voting public weighs in. Then, when all the votes have been cast and counted, it is up to Congress to certify the results. A final check-and-balance against eligibility irregularities lies with the courts, and ultimately the Supreme Court."

That person was talking out their arse.

If Marco Rubio or Bobby Jindal tries to run for POTUS I will oppose them just as stridently. If you don’t like the constitution the way it is, then change it. In the mean time, you have to be a Natural Born Citizen and we have been over and over it. There is NO DOUBT, (some have doubt, but they are WRONG), that the framers knew very well what a Natural Born Citizen (NOT NATIVE BORN) was and made it a special requirement for president. So that the “Command in Chief” of the army wouldn’t have loyalties to foreign nations like ObOZO does. Born in the USA by 2, (count ‘em) TWO, DEUX, U.S. citizen parentS.

Apparently, that is the only place congressmen can talk from.

That’s what it did mean. That’s what it should mean. But our government at all levels has simply redefined the term out of existence.

And if that doesn’t scare someone, they’re historically illiterate. It is a sure sign of a declining and soon to be tyrannical state.

Maybe we can turn things around. I’m starting to doubt it...

He knows better, but he like many Dems & Pubbies has been bought. The "fix" was in before the primary was over. Those representing us are TRAITORS! This is in their interest, but not the nation or "We the People's" interest.

I've got to admit - Tom hasn't exactly been making a whole lot of noise about Obama's ineligibility since he was elected. In fact, not a single Congress critter raised a challenge when the electoral votes were being counted. That was one of the most shameful moments of American history, in my view.

This is one of the reasons that I support Sarah Palin. She has clean hands, and is determined to see this country restored to its Founding Principles. She has not been bought by evil, and built her reputation fighting corruption on both sides of the aisle.

I have a feeling these guys are being blackmailed or something. There are millions that go into Alinskyite mode when any person with power goes off the plantation. Intimidation will work on over 90 percent of politicians probably—at least.

I'm still hoping that some underling wrote this response, and not Tom McClintock. If he really did write it, then he's been compromised somehow. There's no way that someone of his caliber and experience in Congress doesn't realize that Zero's eligibility is suspect (to say the least).

Everyone gets the basics on this issue except the few deluded birthers who remain sadly in denial.

Talk about delusion! LOL

Take a poll sometime of where Freepers stand on the eligibility question, and I think you'll find something like 80% believe he's not eligible, per the Constitution.

I'm afraid that your interpretation of Article II, Section 1 is the minority view among conservatives and patriots. Even the most cursory glance over conservative blogs, forums, etc., will show that to be the case.

But who gets to decide what the Constitution means by Natural Born Citizen?

Uh uh, unruh. Ya got it all wrong. Using all of those discredited sources which have been vetted and shown to be biased and fraudulent.

The article was probably written a couple of years ago and Unruh just has not kept up with the exposes'. I sure makes him look like a cretin who is brought to his office on the short bus.

That’s been decided a long time ago, but a few refuse to accept reality:

The Venus, 12 U.S. 8 Cranch 253 253 (1814)

Shanks v. Dupont, 28 U.S. 3 Pet. 242 242 (1830)

Minor v. Happersett , 88 U.S. 162 (1875)

United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649 (1898)

All four of these cases held essentially the samr definition: That two citizen parents are require.

But the squirmers try to find a wiggle word somewhere in the decisions to frasp at rather than just accepting what the court held four times.
