And the worst thing you can do is run up a credit card because you’re going to buy a year’s worth of freeze dried food

Noone I know who has been even slightly prepping has done that. I do things like have a years worth of coffee on hand. It was all bought cheaper than now. I buy a case of tuna when it is on sale, etc. This woman has no clue what a prepper is.

Someone does it. Costco sells a 4-person 1-year supply of freeze-dried food for $3000. They wouldn't keep offering it if people weren't buying.

There’s at least one “survival food” company that does, in fact, encourage people to place huge orders on their credit cards.
