Thanks, perdogg, for saying that.

I do NOT like Rick Perry. I’ve said so many times. But my crazy brother-in-law could do a better job in Washington than Obama has.

I’ll fight for the best candidate to oppose him till next summer, then if I have to hold my nose and vote for Perry once again, I will.

Because I love this country and my grandbaby more than I loathe Perry.

It’s not about me. Sitting at home in November 2012 is simply no option for a patriot.

Concerning Sarah Palin and "cheap labor interests," I'm not so sure she's not like so many RINOs on the Illegal Alien issue. I only have the below excerpt from her interview when she was McCain's running mate, and not much since.
Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska?

"I don't know, I don't know. That's a good question."

As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?

"There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration."

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?

"No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides."

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

"I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country."

LINK

On enforcement: "No way we can roundup 12 million," "not economical," "not humane,"

On amnesty: "not a total amnesty" 'supports a path to citizenship for illegals'

I wish I could find were she addressed this issue without using the RINO phrase book.

I do agree that Palin’s been either vague or duplicitous on illegal immigration. That’s why she’s not at the top of my list.

However, unlike Perry, that’s really her only weak point. Perry’s record is atrocious on any number of fronts. So bad that he barely qualifies as republican, much less conservative.

If they can tell me when Sarah spoke out for Federal Enforcement against the invaders, I’ll be happy and relieved to know it. If they merely attack, I’ll know she’s a RINO on the issue.

You are right but I see consistancy in Rules, Rule of Law that she keeps coming back to.
Here is another statement more recent where she is willing to move against DREAM ACT;

“The immigrants of the past, they had to literally and figuratively stand in line to become U.S. citizens. I’d like to see that continue,” Palin said, according to Politico. “And unfortunately, the DREAM Act kind of usurps that.”
Then I heard her on FOX with Greta during the AZ 1070 hullabulo. She mentioned building the country through the FRONT DOOR.
Out of all of them I think she will quietly enforce I’m guessing and keep pressing Rule of Law but not talk DEPORT THEM ALL either.
this is far stronger than Perry.

Palin did say something in support of AZ Governor Brewer on AZ’s Immigration law, but it was worded in such a way that it seemed that it could be based on State Rights. I see Federal Immigration Enforcement as a primary duty of the federal government of a sovereign nation - on the level of Military Defense.

Lamenting the abandonment of old proven ways is pointless if you then go on to the RINO phrase book of Immigration myths and false solutions.

Years of non-enforcement and the "can't deport them all" attitude has been exactly what keeps the invaders coming.

Right now America has a "front door" that has admitted more than a million legal immigrants a year for decade, but that does not and will never stop those breaking in through the windows as long as they feel safe once they get here.

Before the failed Amnesty of the 1980s and the de facto temporary amnesty since, four different President used large scale repatriation programs to clear out illegals. And all of those demonstrated clearly that for every illegal physically removed by the gov't, 15-20 times more were scared into fleeing the country on their own.

The Amnesty (which also was not total) in the 1980s, only demonstrated that it encouraged an even larger invasion of illegals.

not the case. obama started this campaign season artificially early because he’s bored with being President. it’s not as much fun to him actually being president as it is running for the office. Sarah isn’t playing his game, and will announce when she’s ready.

you are singing to the choir but I do not think any of the candidates will talk “deportation” with her We get as close as possible. The only weapon left is to institute E-Verify in an enforceable way. If Lamar Smith’s bill passes with the FED pre-emption and high standard of evidence against employers...we are toast. This bill MUST BE BLOCKED.

You didn’t. I never said you did. Sorry if there was misunderstanding.

You did say you wouldn’t vote for Perry again. I sure hope I don’t have to, that it doesn’t come to that. In an Obama/Perry matchup, I’m assuming we would hold our noses and do the right thing.
