A writer/reporter was given a certain amount of space they were required to fill each week. Slow news? Doesn't matter. You must fill those picas. Any trash will do!
Reporters today, like this Ian Sample, have become so totally lazy and unethical that the trash they produce reads less like news and more like dime store sci-fi novels.
