FR, I recently converted my computer to 32-bit Windows 7 from XP. When I installed my HP 3052 print/scanner/fax it was able to print but I lost the fax and scan capabilities.
No, the driver for Windows Vista won't work. The HP 'Universal' driver just supports printing.
I was wondering if anyone had the same problem and if there was some way to make this work like maybe with a substitute driver?
Thank you for your help!

N00bie to Win7, myself, ...
Have you tried right clicking on the HP and looking at the compatibility feature in Win 7?
I had to do that for a couple of old programs I was installing on a new Win7 laptop and reset them to an older Windows version.
[I’m on my XP desktop now, so I don’t have immediate access to the exact Win7 wording/selection.]
You need the Win 7 drivers which are here:

personally, I understand the space saving, but that is why I never buy HP and always buy separate units in case one goes down I don't lose both

I would uninstall the 3035 fully, then disconnect it and reboot. Then install the new HP software from scratch. Don’t plug in the 3035 until the software says to do so. Cross your fingers.
windows7 has xp mode right? it may work with the xp driver...
Sorry, I meant 3052.
Instead of consulting FReepers, why not visit the HP Help website?
Bookmarked for later. My driver disc for my printer is in Italy with my Navy daughter. Tried downloading drivers and couldn’t get it to work. Maybe this link will be my salvation also!
It is the other way around. Hardware manufacturers write the drivers to stay compatible with Microsoft. In any case, it is much better to first try to install the correct Win 7 drivers and cross your fingers than to roll back to XP. The poster’s problem was trying to use Vista drivers with Win 7 instead of upgrading to the right driver set.
Megan, PLEASE let us know if any of these great FReeper suggestions help you (or, conversely, if NONE of them helps!). I had a similar problem about a year ago, when I switched my HP All-in-One from Vista to Windows 7, and somehow got the HP software to work (but I couldn’t re-create how I did it). Good Luck!
IE is a browser, not an operating system. Totally different issue that has nothing to do with hardware drivers. I never upgrade any browser until several months or more have passed. The only reason to upgrade software on an otherwise stable system is because of a critical security issue.
I called HP support and they said use the Windows 7 Universal driver and it only supports printing. When I called back about the fax and scan they told me they didn’t support that.
