All of my “treasure” was lost in a bizarre gardening accident.

A robber who is serious would grab your kid or your wife, and you would soon talk.

That is why you keep two stashes. One you will give up if forced too.

The battle has to happen before they can search, so why hide?

It’s a no win situation. If heaven forbid in the extremely unlikely scenario where all civil order broke down and it became every man for themselves, every military and law enforcement armory in the country would be emptied out in hours or days.

There would be individuals and groups of trained armed ex-soldiers or police living off the land for their survival and lots of them. Some of them would be good, some of them would be bad. Does anybody in their right mind think that they could survive a contest armed with civilian weaponry against guys who likely will be armed to the teeth with stuff that makes Colt or Smith & Wesson look like kids toys ? Guys who are trained in how to use those arms and small unit combat tactics.

I am not even talking about organized crime gangs who we already know have stockpiles of military grade weaponry squirreled away for future use. They are dangerous enough but not nearly so much as a highly trained soldier.

You might get lucky and waste one or two of them who are coming to get your “stuff” but I hate to say it, if it is a group of them working in concert with each other, they are going to snuff almost any civilian’s a** and hardly break a sweat doing it.

All that having been said. I wouldn’t worry about it since for various reasons a Mad Max scenario here in the US is about as likely as me winning the Powerball jackpot.

And make sure you tell someone you trust where it all is! My mom hid her jewelry in the house, then died fairly suddenly. It took a couple of years for my dad to find it.

I have no problem putting my faith in the men and women of the armed forces. I think they have the values and love of country that I do (and you).

My problem will be with local, unionized LEOs, many of whom are fine people but many more of whom are nothing more than badge toting thugs who will use their power (including militarized SWAT training) to make our lives miserable.

Hopefully, it won’t come to that. But with Dumb0 doing everything in his power to incite race riots before the 2012 elections, I’m going to try to hold out until the real cavalry arrives.

I think hiding a cache in the dirt deep down about 5 feet behind the shed near the oaks trees...wait...are you sure you won’t be telling anybody about this?

Yes. They are not the only ones trained. Americans would self organize into local militias very rapidly. Bands of looters would quickly be destroyed, executed or run off. The only way to stop this would be for the U.S. military to restore order enough to make it unnecessary.

I wonder if theyve seen some of my country boy friends who can hike eight or nine miles into some of the thickest brush in southern WV and climb to the top of a tree stand to await a large buck? If they had a bolt action 30-06 and a good hiding place he could make short work of a six man patrol of national guardsmen.

Unless theyre prepared to turn loose apache helicopters on American citizens there’s no way they can beat us quickly.

I’m thinking the robbers in question here wear uniforms.
