In today’s lousy economy, men can take comfort in knowing that there is one sought-after good that is becoming steadily more affordable: sex.
Regnerus likens the price of sex to the housing market. Too many foreclosures in one community, and the price of neighboring homes start to plummet. This is why single women in New York sometimes feel as though sex on the first date is a given: According to the market, it is.
“Every sex act is part of a ‘pricing’ of sex for subsequent relationships,” Regnerus said. “If sex has been very easy to get for a particular young man for many years and over the course of multiple relationships, what would eventually prompt him to pay a lot for it in the future -- that is, committing to marry?”

“Sexual strategies for making men ‘fall in love’ typically backfire, because men don’t often work like that,” Regnerus says.

This article reminds me of something that’s been on my mind. When I was growing up (70’s & 80’s) streetwalking prostitutes were something seen only in the big cities.
Now? In my hometown (pop 12,000) there are a half dozen young females renting out their body parts, and they walk the streets within blocks of the police department.
It certainly says something about the women doing this but it also I think says something about just how bad this economy has gotten under Obama.
Pardon me? this MAN wants nothing to do with this.
The story sounds more like Man Child to me. Al Gore would approve.

Getting married to have sex is like buying a 747 to get free peanuts. If all you want is free peanuts, there is a lot more cost efficient ways of getting them.

Well, that is the traditional feminist, man-hating line. Hey, it’s not the men that started it all with bra-burning. It’s the women that wanted sexual equality, sexual freedom, unlimited and free access to before and after birth control, and on and on.

I recall listening to Lysistrata featuring Hermione Gingold in the school library many years ago. I laughed so hard the librarian had to ask me to be quiet.
Thank ‘Pretty Woman” which made whoring socially acceptable and “romantic” and “adventurous” for young ladies
