Why? The stuff is public, right?

If they want to suck it off the net and evaluate it, and massage it for additional data or ideas, fine.

Its when they start trying to use force of law to make the bloggers change their content, or to eliminate them, that we have an issue.

I’ve worked in the Intel field for a while. I’ll have to get the reg out and see if the Fed Reserve falls under Intel Oversight. If any DOD entity were to do what the Fed Res is doing, heads would roll.

It is in fact illegal for DOD personnel to collect information (spy) on US citizens unless authorization is given. Open source info is included in the Act, afterall information is information.
