Kinda like the medias Steve Jobs worship.
Rush Limbaugh once devoted an entire show—all three hours—to praising Woods. I wonder if he still fawns over him?
No worries, Tiger will mount a charge to 37th and we will every one of his shots.
Pic of TW is on the Yahoo Golf page, of course. The storyline says “Tiger Woods showed flashes of his former self on Saturday, but is too far behind to have a realistic chance to win.” In reality, he shot an undistinguished first round of 73 and is 9 strokes off the lead! Check out the video of the spoiled prima donna throwing his driver after a 161 yard tee shot.
He is not playing well, but over the course of a pretty long career he has been a golf phenom. “Past their sale date” athletes and “personalities” are used to sell things all the time.
He may lacking in the character area, but he’s a golf great for sure.
And, it’s not like he tortured dogs or bet on the game for instance.
There is nothing to like about Tiger's personal life. However, Tiger will always be known for his once exceptional golf game. Many people yearn to see his game return to top tier again. Tiger at his best was awe inspiring for golf fans.
Good point.
Tiger Woods was a star until the PGA started steroid testing. After that, he flamed out. He’s the Brady Anderson of golf.
The headline is still up and a -3 yesterday was not an extraordinary round.
Look at the whole page 2 of the 3 video story’s are on Tiger.
He’s rated 60 something in the world for crying out loud, he doesn’t rate the attention let alone the media man crush.
ESPN is the worst at worshipping sports stars. I can hardly watch ESPN anymore because of that. Whether it’s Tiger, or Lebron, or Kobe, or Vick, or Jeter.....and if there are no Yankees or Phillies or any East Coast team in the baseball playoffs, you can forget about getting any real coverage for your “flyover” team.
Tiger could always do porn movies or sell sexual aids on cable. ;-)
It’s a shame your nose is out of joint this Sunday because of a golfer. I wish you all the best.
Same thing with Michael Vick and Donovan McNabbit.
Au contraire, I’m having a wonderful Sunday but thanks for your concern.
I agree, he is a golf phenom.
I also think he inspired people to take up the game. I know it is an expensive sport but it is something one can do well into retirement....I live across from a golf course , I don’t golf myself but I sure enjoy the beauty of the greens.
Tiger went from the great golfer with a wife and two kids to woman coming out of the woodwork selling their stories to anyone who would listen. It all has to take a toll on him personally and professionally...and yes he made his bed and now he has to lie in it, no pun intended.....
TV ratings for golf tournaments are nearly double when Tiger’s in it than the same tournament if he isn’t. Everybody likes money, and pimping Tiger makes the networks plenty of it.
Agreed, Kimmers, but that wasn’t my point.
I think I was going more for a glass house/cast the first stone kinda thing. At least I am now after reading the other comments on this thread.
I know that wasn’t your point but then I started rambling and sorry for the rambles....agree on the glass house/cast the first stone....sad for his kids.....
I guess I did too. I’m having trouble finding myself defending Tiger Woods, but there you go.
