I, too, am dismayed at the lack of respect for not only the Holy Father, but for the rite of Holy Communion.
I'm not Catholic, I'm a Missouri Synod Lutheran.
I guess it's true that nothing is sacred anymore.

Bad priests have done stunts like this, attempting to consecrate potato chips and orange juice, etc. It’s blasphemy, and there’s nothing funny about blasphemy. Sorry.
